Aibek S. Ahmedov

Aibek S. Ahmedov, LLB (FSU), LLM (UEA), is a PhD scholar at Brunel University in London, UK. His research interests mainly lie in the field of history of Islamic law, law of religious minorities in Islamic law and modern contract and insurance law. He has published several articles on Islamic law, banking and insurance law in various English and Russian journals and attended several conferences and presented his papers on Islamic law in UK and Roman law in Moscow. He is largely influenced by writings of Ignaz Goldziher, Joseph Schacht, Patricia Crone and Mark Cohen. His interest in Roman law is mainly confined to the question of its reception in early Islamic law and he also plans to publish in the comparative field of Islamic and Roman contract law.
